No, but it's a useful optional add-on. The Argon kit is designed for welding reactive metals, particularly titanium. Without it, oxygen in the welding area can cause intense sparking that may damage the workpiece. With it, a shot of argon gas is released before the laser fires, shielding the weld and ensuring a clean, precise result. You can add the kit at the time of purchase or install it yourself later.

Inside the chamber, on the right-hand side of the back wall, you'll find a slit where the water tank sits. The tank should be kept around three-quarters full — if it's low, simply top it up with de-ionised water (the same type used in jewellers' steam cleaners, also available at most hardware stores). You only need to check this every six months to a year depending on use.

Your DaDo arrives with a suggested settings guide, but the best approach is always to start low and increase power gradually until you achieve the result you're after. This gives you greater control and applies to any laser welder, not just the DaDo.

The risk of injury when using the DaDo correctly is extremely low. The 10× zoom microscope gives you a clear, close-up view of your work, and using tools such as tweezers, pliers, or speed wire keeps your hands away from the laser area. As with any precision tool, care and attention are the main safety requirements.

The DaDo 2.0 comes with a two-year warranty covering all parts of the machine except the flash bulb, which is the only consumable component. In practice, flash bulbs typically last around 5 million shots. Extended warranty options are also available — contact us for details.

Support starts before your machine arrives. Every DaDo is tested and quality-checked before dispatch. Once you receive it, we'll call within the first few days to make sure everything is set up correctly. Our team is available Monday to Friday during office hours for any questions, and we follow up at six months to check the machine is performing as expected. We also have an extensive library of support videos available online.

Yes, in three formats. Travelling workshops are half-day sessions led by academy tutor Paul Payne, suitable for both new and existing customers. Full training days at our Hertfordshire HQ provide hands-on practice with your own machine, covering jump rings, bolt rings, chains, porosity repair, re-tipping, re-clawing, and resizing. No. Routine maintenance is straightforward: keep the machine clean, protect it from polishing dust, and wipe down the chamber and protective disc near the lenses periodically. The two-year warranty covers any faults that arise, and we won't recommend servicing unless it's genuinely needed.

Error #4 (Flow Failure) — this indicates an issue with water flow. Check the water level first and top up if needed. If the level is fine, there may be a blockage or a problem with the tank itself. On older machines, the tank may need replacing — we can either arrange collection for a service or send you a replacement tank to fit yourself with our guidance.
