NANO Laser Marking Focus Test Quick Guide
Laser Marking Focus Test: Quick Step-by-Step Guide
Launch the Marking Application: Open the software.
Position Scrap Metal: Place a flat piece of scrap metal securely on the base or within your clamp.
Create a Square Marking Area: Draw a square (10mm x 10mm is sufficient) in the centre of the marking area, or adjust the size and position to suit your scrap piece.
Apply Hatching and Select Material Settings (PEN): Apply a hatching fill to the square and choose the correct material setting (PEN No) to match your metal (e.g., brass, stainless steel, silver).
Enable Continuous Marking Mode: Select "CONTINUOUS" mode. This is usually located at the bottom of the screen, below the "Mark" button.
Set the Initial Focus: Adjust the focus and ensure the 2 red laser points appear as one.
Start Marking: Press the "Mark" button to begin the laser marking.
Fine-Tune the Focus:
– Turn the focus handle clockwise to move the laser head until the marking becomes weak.
– Then, turn the handle anti-clockwise to find the point where the laser is most powerful and the marking is strong and bright.
– Once you've found this point, stop the marking process.
Check Red Laser Dot Alignment:
– Are the two red laser dots aligned (appearing as one)?
– If they are, the focus is correct, and no further adjustment is needed.
– If they are not aligned, proceed to the next step.
Adjust Red Laser Dot Alignment:
– Use the provided Allen key (or one that fits the focus hex screws) to loosen the screws slightly.
– Move the red laser dot until it aligns with the other so they appear as a single dot.
– Gently tighten the screws.
Focus is Now Correct: Your laser marking focus is now properly set.
